OUR WHY

In 2018, Mary Elaine and Brett Baker, an Army Ranger couple, took a

leap of faith that would change not only their lives but hundreds of

others.

As an active-duty military spouse and mother of two, Mary Elaine

struggled to balance the demands of military life with a traditional

career. Frequent deployments, relocations, and raising a family

alone made it nearly impossible to maintain steady employment. In

2017, she left her job as a public school educator and became a

virtual assistant, finally finding the freedom, purpose, and flexibility

her family needed.

But she soon realized her story wasn’t unique. Military spouses face

unemployment rates more than five times higher than the national

average, despite bringing exceptional soft skills - adaptability,

loyalty, and resilience - that businesses need.

Mary Elaine saw an opportunity to bridge the gap between military

families seeking meaningful work and business owners needing

trustworthy, values-driven support.

For everyone you refer to VAUSA who signs on as a

client, you will receive a 2-hour credit on your

invoice, and your assistant will receive a $25 bonus

monthly. These incentives continue as long as your

referral remains a client!

Example, if you refer 5 clients, you’ll earn:

10 hours/month of service credits

$1,500 in total annual bonuses for your VA

At VAUSA®, we are committed to providing high-quality virtual assistant services. We

understand that bringing a virtual assistant (VA) onto your team is a significant decision,

and we want to ensure you have all the information you need to move forward with

confidence. Below are some of the most common questions executives ask when

searching for a VA.

Where do you recruit your virtual assistants?

Most of our virtual assistants come from military-affiliated organizations, such as Hiring

Our Heroes, Hire Heroes USA, and the Military Spouse Employment Partnership.

Additionally, many of our current assistants refer other highly qualified candidates to

join our team. This network allows us to source dedicated, skilled professionals who are

accustomed to adaptability, resilience, and service-oriented work.

What happens if my assistant needs time off?

If your assistant needs to take extended time off for personal reasons or vacation, we

have contingency plans in place. All assistants create Standard Operating Procedures

(SOPs) for their tasks, allowing a trusted team member to step in and ensure continuity

of service. This means your business operations will continue smoothly without

disruption.

What if I don’t use all my contracted hours? Do they roll over?

Unused hours do not roll over. That’s why our onboarding process is so thorough—to

ensure that your package, VA, and goals align to best suit your needs. Your dedicated

Success Coach will work with your VA to track hours and ensure they are being fully

utilized. If any issues arise, we will address them proactively and develop a plan to

maximize productivity.

How long is the contract commitment?

When you sign on with VAUSA®, you enter a 90-day contractual commitment. We have

found that this timeframe is essential for establishing effective communication, trust,

and a productive working relationship. After the initial 90-day period, services transition

to a month-to-month model, allowing you to continue as long as it serves your business

needs. We require a 30-day notice for cancellation. Our ultimate goal is to foster long-

term, successful partnerships between our clients and their assistants.

How do you ensure data security and confidentiality?

All VAUSA® assistants sign strict confidentiality agreements and follow best practices

for data security. We also work with you to implement additional security measures as

needed.
